The first version from 1996, released both on floppy and CD-ROM as the last DOS-based game from Elf. It distinctly builds itself off of the genre and tropes of the time in it's writing, and had some of the most admired people in the industry then to work on the game. The A.D.M.S (Auto Diverge Mapping System) system was revolutionary then and even well explained through the in-game documents, the reflector allowing Takuya to travel between parallel universes and the eight jewels to make return points along the way all make a satisfying mystery adventure that still holds up to-day in spite of some difficulty. (Using a guide is well recommended !)
YU-NO released again on December 22nd, 2000 in the Elf Classics Bundle, which contains the Windows release of YU-NO along with Shangrlia 1 and 2. It's a port of the PC-98 version only with removal of some story content.
Released 2011 as a fan effort from TLWiki was the first and arguably definitive translation & version of the game, restoring cut content, smoothly bringing it into English as well as providing the best of both the PC-98 original & Saturn port with additional patches. This archive allows you to obtain both an ISO of the Elf Classics bundle and the patches already bundled in. Though they are also available separately in the case you already own a copy of the game:
Bonus Extraction Tools:
(These tools allow you to extract different files used by the PC Version. Python 3 required for use.)
YU-NO was ported to the Sega Saturn in 1997, this is the one version not yet translated. It recolours the art, has redrawn or additional CGs, additional voice acting, animated sequences, rearranged music, toned down story content, and two more jewels for gameplay. There is a series on NicoNico highlighting the differences between the PC-98 & Saturn version througout the full story.
This is the only version I own physically, I plan to upload more from it at a later point.

In 1998 Pink Pineapple released a 4-episode OVA with little similarity to the game itself or it's plot and characters, it's difficult to follow even for those who have played the game and rather funny but the quality of art is worth notice.
Takuya, Kanna, Mio & Sayless were my favourite characters, the character writing, relatability and dialogue is what kept my interest the most.
